Meanwhile In Daveyton EP

South Africa’s Amapiano scene continues to introduce new artists with unique stories, sounds and creative identities. Among the emerging acts making an impression is Dynamic Duo, a Daveyton-born Amapiano duo made up of Essential SA and 2KayMusiq.

The duo is set to release their highly anticipated debut EP, Meanwhile In Daveyton, a seven-track project inspired by their upbringing, community and experiences in Daveyton, east of Johannesburg.

The project is scheduled for release on July 17, 2026, and is positioned as an important introduction to the duo’s musical world.

Rather than simply presenting a collection of dance tracks, Meanwhile In Daveyton is built around a strong sense of place. The EP explores township life, personal experiences, aspirations, identity and the journey of two artists who are using music to tell the story of where they come from.

For Dynamic Duo, Daveyton is more than a location. It is part of their identity and a major influence on their creative direction.
